KICKSTART KINGLAKE EQUESTRIAN CENTRE

WITH MAJOR FUNDRAISER AT CROWN!

The racing community will be out in full force next month at a black tie charity dinner at Crown Casino in support of the Kinglake Ranges Equestrian and Community Centre.

The event, put together by the townsfolk of Kinglake and its equestrian community will be held on Saturday August 14, 2010 and will raise funds for an industry that has played a vital role in aiding and rebuilding the Kinglake local community since the tragic Black Saturday bushfires of 2009.

There is a host of big names coming out and lending their support to this fantastic cause, with Channel 9’s Tony Jones to host the event, along with musical entertainment provided by the legendary Joe Camilleri and The Black Sorrows.

Since the 2009 bushfires, the involvement in The Kinglake Pony Club, Kinglake Riders Club, The Kinglake Ranges Western Performance Club, and the Great Divide Trail Riders has increased tremendously, bringing tourists and new members to the region at an ever increasing rate. So much so that there is no longer enough room to accommodate all those who wish to participate.

“It really has been amazing,” said event organiser Brad Quilliam. “The numbers just constantly go up and up, it has been great for local businesses as well as community spirit so it’s definitely something we wish to expand as much as we can.” As a result, this fantastic dinner has been organised to aid in raising enough funds to purchase an area of land which will be suitable for the expansion of equestrian activities as well as promote community use.

There will be an auction on the night, with items up for sale generously donated, such as a series of 10 lithographs of Clifton Pugh’s property by an artist who worked with Pugh himself.

Tickets to the dinner are priced at $250 per person, with a table of 10 people earning guests one extra seat for free. The ticket price includes a gourmet three course meal along with beer, wine and soft drink. Not to mention all the dancing and live music that anyone could ever ask for!
