Lucinda Bunning has won the opening competition of the 2012 Young Rider Selection Series and takes home a brand new Tekna saddle.

On Sunday 15 July the Geraldton Equestrian Club hosted a fantastic show in great weather conditions. Bunning, aboard Intune, incurred 4 penalties in the first round and going in to the second round was on equal penalties with Rebecca Tucker and Oaks Redwood. However in the second round Rebecca incurred 12 more penalties whilst Lucinda only added a further 4 penalties finishing on a total of 8 to take home the win. Hanna Fletcher riding Thunder Smile was third on a total of 20 penalties.

Eligible young riders must compete at one competition 1 event and one competition 2 event  completing all four rounds, in order to receive a ranking for the series. Winners of each competition receive a brand new Tekna saddle thanks to the wonderful support from Tekna and The Saddlery Trading Company.

The next round of the selection series will be held at the Queensland State Championships begining on 27 July.
