2019 ONLINE NOMINATION

The Jumping Victoria State Show jumping Squad is designed to be the aspiration of jumping riders throughout Victoria, combinations selected onto this squad are considered the best performing combinations at time of selection. 

AIMS: 

  • Facilitate State representation at major national events
  • Improve the preparation and management of horses at major competitions 
  • Enhancement of event psychology for elite riders 
  • Encourage leadership in show jumping as ambassadors of the sport to younger riders
  • Develop physical fitness/strength techniques for equine competition
  • Teaching approach for borrowed horse competitions

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Competing regularly at EA events/competitions at 115cm+ (Junior) or 130cm+ (Young Rider) 
  • Likely to be managing two or more horses (not necessarily at 115cm+ level, but may include younger horses etc) 
  • Endeavour to travel interstate to ‘Major’ Show jumping competitions as identified by selectors
  • Has represented Victoria at State or National Competitions (ASJC at Junior or Young Rider level) 
  • Likely to have established regular instruction and often having event support from coach. 

PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Submission of application
  • Availability for state team selection
  • Commit to attend 4 out of 5 squad clinics throughout the squad season
  • Must be a member of a Victorian Show jumping club and assist on two occasions at a club run activity
  • Uniform provided (jacket or vest and polo) to be consistently worn to promote sponsor and Squad.

SQUAD MEMBER REQUIREMENTS: 

Applicants must be current financial members of EA and are eligible to participate as squad members until December of the year in which they turn 21 years old.

Participation fee is $200 per weekend inclusive of GST - venue facility fees and camping are additional charges. Participation fee includes 3 riding lessons, specialised training with Sports Psychologist Christopher Shen throughout program, Rider and Equine Individual Performance plan development with State coach, guest speakers timetabled, breakfast Sunday morning, additional horses may be accommodated if numbers permit. Minimum attendance required to 3 out of 4 training weekends. (Additional October Squad training/Show optional) 

Riders must agree to fully participate in funded squad activities as per signed Squad agreement

Successful applicants will receive a letter of acceptance and a medical form to complete and return.

Each Squad will be posted as an event online and you will be required to book online to confirm your attendance and payment.  Bookings will cut off 1 week prior to training weekend.

  • 27– 28 April at WPNEC
  • 25 – 26 May at WPNEC
  • 06 – 07 July at Tatura Park 
  • 03 – 04 August at WPNEC
  • 05 / 06 October with Training Saturday / Squad Show Sunday with coaches
