Equestrian Victoria Members at WEG Tryon 2018

Tonight the second day of competition takes place at the WEG in Tryon.

As an Aussie, I am extremely proud of all our athletes, but I will be watching with an extra dose of Aussie pride as two of our recent Equestrian Victoria Awards recipients take the stage.

Mary Hanna, Equestrian Victoria Hall of Fame inductee, riding Boogie Woogie 6, will compete tonight in the Dressage Grand Prix teams event and individual qualifier, while Para-Equestrian Athlete of the Year, Emma Booth, enters the arena with Zidane later in the week.

We will all be riding with them as they 'enter at A' and wishing them the very best of luck.

The Equestrian Victoria pride doesn't stop with the dressage -  EV members, Shauna Larcombe (Designed With Shine) and Martin Larcombe (Colonels Smart Spook) competed in the Reining 1st Individual Qualifying Session with Shauna finishing in the top 12, qualifying for the final, while Martin finished in position 36. There is more reining action to come later tonight (Melbourne time) and later in the week. Good luck team!

For EV member Naomi O'Shaughnessy (Castlebar Party Girl), the cancellation of the Endurance competition would no doubt have been devastating regardless of the reasons why.

Here's wishing EVERY member of the Aussie team across all disciplines the very best as they fly the flag high!
