Equestrian Victoria statement re Equestrian Australia

The purpose of this statement is to update members and other stakeholders of the steps being taken by Equestrian Victoria (EV) in relation to the future direction of Equestrian Australia (EA).

EA has accepted a request by its state branches to hold a facilitated meeting between the EA Board and branch representatives (Board Chairs and CEOs) in August.

The branches have been collaborating to produce a draft agenda which is currently set to cover the following:

1. Structural change

  • Functions to be performed by the National office
  • State and National distribution of administrative duties and responsibilities
  • Organisational, structural and governance changes

2. Review options

  • External review
  • Facilitated forum

3. Implementation

  • Update of Memorandum of Understanding between EA and Branches
  • Constitutional amendments
  • Transitional arrangements
  • Time lines and targets.

Victoria is pleased to have the opportunity to work with the other state branches and shape EA’s future at a facilitated meeting. We recognise this as a positive step towards achieving the outcomes we are seeking for our members.

EV is dedicated to serving and representing its members and, in its capacity as the peak body for equestrian sports in Victoria, the wider equestrian industry. The growth, development and advancement of our sport is at the forefront of our actions and planning. Achieving the right outcomes requires extensive collaboration with all EA branches and members.

EV will continue to keep members informed and involved with developments.

We also recognise that our members have a wealth of knowledge and a variety of skill sets, and we welcome constructive feedback and ideas.
