A grassroots swell of EA (Equestrian Australia) members will hold a meeting at Elmore Equestrian Park on Wednesday, September 16 with the intention to form a club affiliated with Equestrian Australia.
Elmore Equestrian Park is actively supporting enthusiastic EA grassroots members to address an ongoing problem of insufficient EA competitions for country Victorian riders north of Melbourne. Local EA competitors are facing costs of up to $1,000 to attend EA events south of Melbourne where the majority of EA events are held. Riders have additional accommodation, traveling and stabling expenses making it economically prohibitive to compete on a regular basis.
Sally Mitchell, spokesperson for the proposed EA club said, "Individual EA members must come to the realisation the solution for this problem lies with themselves. Riders need to become involved with a club to create new local events. Griping does not solve a problem but becoming actively involved does"
Recent infrastructure improvements have ensured that Elmore Equestrian Park is a prime venue to host various EA equestrian events, including dressage, showing, inter schools and showjumping. Riders from country Victoria and southern NSW now have the opportunity to be actively involved in creating new EA events to be held at Elmore Equestrian Park.
Elmore Equestrian Park boasts an indoor pavilion, 8 sand arenas, large grassed arena that is currently being established, new amenity block and 108 stable complex that enables the venue to host events catering for hundreds of horses and riders.
Riders interested in becoming involved are invited to attend a public meeting commencing at 8pm on Wednesday, September 16th, 2015 at the administration office at Elmore Equestrian Park, 48 Rosaia Road Elmore (Elmore Field Days site) For further information contact Sally Mitchell 0428 590 059
