Jumping Committee Report – January 2022

The new EV Jumping committee met on Tuesday 11th January and is pleased to submit this summary of business.

NEW JUMPING VICTORIA COMMITTEE FOR 2022/2023 

CHAIR OF JUMPING ELECTED
Congratulations to Cindy Morrison who was elected unopposed as Chair of Jumping for 2022/2023

CINDY MORRISON
Cindy is a regular on the Victorian Show Jumping scene and can be found competing, organising, or volunteering. The Morrison family are heavily involved with Show Jumping and can be found at most events either riding, organising, stewarding, or volunteering. Apart from riding Cindy is an accomplished NCAS Level Two coach and has been working with members of the Development Squads for the last three years. Cindy also brings with her an extensive professional background in management within large scale organisations. We welcome Cindy to the role and wish her all the very best.

NEW JUMPING RULES effective 1 January 2022

The updated 2022 National Jumping Rules effective 1 January 2022 have been published on the EA website and can be found on this link

Some of the larger changes are

  • Updates to scoring under Table A events
  • Helmet Tagging
  • Updates to Dress, Protective Headgear and Salute
  • Updates to rules for Futurity horses for calendar year 2022 (due to Covid restrictions)

These updates also now include the FEI updates following their General Assembly and publication of the updated FEI Rules.

UPDATE TO JJD SCORING SYSTEM  - NOTE FOR CLUBS USING JJD SOFTWARE

As a result of the rule changes mentioned above it was discussed advising our clubs and secretaries who are using the JJD scoring system you may need to update your scoring system software. So it may be ideal to do this a few days out from the next event you are intending to use the software at. 

OFFICIALS ACCREDITATION

To maintain EA Officials accreditation, EA Officials must submit accreditation forms every 3 years. The 3-year re-accreditation cycle is coming to an end in March 2022.

To maintain your EA Officials accreditation, you will have needed to make sure you have met the update requirements set out in the Sport Rules which will enable you to re-accredit for the next 3-year period 1/4/2022 - 31/3/25.

Within the first 2 weeks of February, you will receive an e-mail giving you all the necessary re-accreditation information and forms that you will need to submit by 31 March 2022 to stay listed as an EA Official.

Further information regarding any Jumping Victoria planned Courses/Seminars Workshops will be released in due course.

JUMPING VICTORIA YOUTH SQUADS

Congratulations to all riders selected to be part of our Youth Squad program, we hope you enjoy your first squad and look forward to watching the development of all these talented and committed riders.

As our state slowly gets back to COVID normal and we get back out to events we encourage you to keep an eye on the Jumping Victoria Live Calendar which will be kept updated with what is coming up across our state.   • March 24 – 26 – PSI Dressage & Jumping with the stars
