Jumping Victoria Committee Annual Meeting

According to the Discipline Committee By-Laws of Equestrian Victoria which were approved in June 2022, Jumping Victoria are required to hold an Annual Meeting following the resignation of two key members of the current Jumping Committee.

Below are the positions currently available on the Jumping Committee that will be filled following the Jumping Victoria Annual Meeting which will be conducted on the 17 th of January 2023. All details on the nomination and voting process for these elected positions can be found below.

Club Representatives – Regions X2

Description of Role – The 12 affiliated Jumping clubs in Victoria have been split into four groups with each club nominating a representative. Once the 12 club representatives were nominated, all Jumping clubs have come together and voted for 4 club representatives to sit on the Jumping Victoria Committee. Each selected club representative will be allocated a group and represent that groups interests at the committee. Note: Clubs have been randomly allocated groups

Group A– Northern Victoria Showjumping Club, Border District Showjumping Club, Goulburn Valley Showjumping Club

Group C– Caramut Riding Club, Geelong Showjumping Club, Central Victoria Showjumping Club

Criteria – The members selected for these positions will be decided by the clubs within the region and can be selected based on their own guidelines. Each region will simply nominate their representative on the committee with the clubs making up that region deciding amongst themselves.

Chair of Jumping Victoria

Description of Role – The person elected chair will be responsible for heading the Jumping Victoria Meetings and receiving a spot on the Equestrian Victoria Board under the current bylaws. The person elected to this position will be required to be the vocal point for the Jumping community and will be required to complete important task within the Jumping discipline including making key decisions and supporting all members. The chair should make themselves available to members any way they can and will need to be display the core values of Jumping and Equestrian Victoria.

Criteria – The chair of Jumping Victoria will be selected by the elected Jumping Victoria Committee at their first meeting post annual meeting. Once the elected members and other committee members are selected, one member of that committee will then be selected to be chair. The chair of Jumping Victoria can be an elected representative or a club representative with the decision coming down to the Jumping Victoria Committee.

Other

Once the election of the chair is completed, each elected committee member will receive a copy of the EV constitution, current bylaws and the responsibilities of the Jumping Victoria Committee.

Jumping Victoria then needs to inform the Equestrian Victoria (EV) board of the new committee members for the EV board to ratify.
