Show Horse Committe Report - August 2022

The EV Show Horse committee met on August 9 and is pleased to submit the following summary of business.

Our July meeting was principally a meeting to arrange our Judges Seminar.

JUDGES SEMINAR
The Judges Seminar was conducted on Sunday 24th July at Werribee Park Equestrian Centre.

We hope those who attended found the day to be a relaxed, informative and interactive day. Attendees were given the opportunity to set the topics for the “talking tables” held after lunch. We also had Equestrian CEO Amy Slater in attendance for the day.

EV OFFICE

Deena Peters has resigned from her position at EV, we thank Deena for the tireless work she has done behind the scenes to ensure we delivered support, events and clinics to our members. Deena will be greatly missed, we are in the process of recruiting, in the meantime we have the support of Adriana.

RIDER CLINICS
Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances we have had to cancel our July & August Rider Clinics. The committee discussed these clinics at length, we are now in the process of reviewing these days and are looking to revamp the days going forward.

MEASURING DAYS
A combined Measuring Day with the RAS and SHCV is set for Saturday 20th August at WPEC with booking via nominate filling fast.

SENSORY HAIRS
Equestrian Australia has banned the trimming of sensory hairs effective from 1st July 2022. EA are in the process of putting together an information brochure pertaining to these new rules. We will provide an update on this policy when it comes to hand.

OFF THE TRACK & OWNER RIDER SHOW

We will once again be conducting an Off The Track and Owner Rider Show to be held at WPEC on Sunday 4th December 2022.

BARASTOC HORSE OF THE YEAR

Event Director Susan McKay presented an update on Barastoc Horse of The Year to be held at Werribee Park 10th – 12th February 2023. She is currently in the process of finalising the schedule.
