NEW SHOW for Showhorse competitors.

The EV Showhorse committee met on Tuesday 16 October and confirmed that they will conduct a 4 ring show at Werribee Park on 4 October to assist competitors as a result of the cancellation of many agricultural shows.

This show will be a qualifier for Barastoc 2021 and also the 2021 NSW Southern Cross Spectacular.

Several Royal Shows have also indicated that they will consider EV conducted shows as performances for qualifications for their 2021 shows.

This show will offer Newcomer, Intermediate and Owner Rider classes as well as all the usual ridden and led classes. Schedules will be be available in July.

Your committee has also been active in organising the Riders' Clinics, the first of which was held on Saturday 13 June when 48 riders received instruction from Greg Mickan and Samantha Bartlett.

The next clinics will be on 19 July and 16 August. Applications for the July clinic will be called for shortly. The first clinic filled within 4 hours of opening so if you intend to apply, do so early. Applicants are accepted in order of applying.

A measuring day will also be incorporated on both of those days and times will be advertised.

During the August clinic, a "protocol or through the judges' eyes" session will be conducted whereby riders will have the opportunity to ride workouts to be critiqued by a judge, without the pressure of competition. It is the intention to make this session open to all riders, not just those attending the clinic, subject to Govt restrictions.

The Young Ambassador selections are now being finalised by the preliminary judging panel with the 10 finalists selected to attend the Young Ambassador Rider weekend on 25 & 26 July soon to be announced.

Final selectors will be Linden Hearn and previous YA winner Dr Sarah O'Connor.

Your committee is also investigating the conduct of a show in a regional area in late October. Details will be advised when confirmed.

We are also pleased to advise that plans for the Nationals are progressing well and again, subject to Govt regulations, this major event will proceed as scheduled on 3,4,5 December.

Although our showing landscape is going to look very different this year, I'm sure we are all pleased and relieved that we already have some activities taking place and we look forward to events in the future.
