Rule Amendments 2021 EA Australasian Show Horse & Rider Championships

EDITED TO ADD UPDATES DATED 16 MAY 2021

IMPORTANT NOTE:
The Rule Amendments are currently awaiting ratification from the EA Board

Introduction

The past 18 months has been challenging for all Equestrian Australia Disciplines due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
With the uncertainty of border restrictions due to the pandemic, the EASHC made the difficult decision to postpone the 2020 EA Australasian Show Horse and Rider Championships until 2021 with the announced intent that all horses and riders qualifying at their 2020 State Horse of the Year Event would be eligible to compete at the rescheduled 2020 Nationals.

The EASHC agreed that the 2020 and 2021 EA Australasian Show Horse & Rider Championships (Nationals) will be conducted as one combined event from 1st-4th December 2021. The combining of the 2 events required a review of the National Show Horse Rules.

Following the review and approval by the EASHC, Amendments to the Rules have been implemented for the 2021 event. We note that the Rules, as amended by these amendments, shall apply up to the conclusion of the Event as provided for in the “Sunset Clause” (see below). Thereafter, the Rules shall revert to those in place and effective as of 1 January 2021.

To make it easier to follow the amendments, the current rule appears in black type and the amendments in red type.  Words that are deleted from the current rule are struck through.  Where appropriate, examples are provided to illustrate how the amendment will work in a particular situation.
