Show Horse Victoria April Update

I hope this finds you all well and you are coping with the unforeseen situation we find ourselves in at present.

As we know only too well, equestrian activities have ground to a halt. When any sort of normality will be restored is pure speculation. However I would like you to know that your committee is considering options to enable you to resume your activities whenever that may be.

CLINICS.

3 clinics were scheduled for 13 June, 19 July, 16 August. It is almost certain that at least some of these will not be able to be conducted. If that is the case, we will Endeavor to reschedule if possible.

MEASURING DAYS

13 June and 16 August had been designated as measuring days. As with the clinics, if these cannot be held, we will certainly have additional measuring days when allowed.

JUDGES SEMINAR

Scheduled for 12 July.

We will continue to plan for this day which will be combined with SHCV. If the seminar does not occur, we will look to move to another date. If it becomes totally impractical to conduct this, we will give consideration to ensuring judges retain their accreditation.

NATIONALS

As only two states have conducted their state titles, there is obviously concern that the other states will be unable to finalise their representatives in time to enable the Nationals to be conducted. These are currently scheduled for 3,4,5 December.

You can be assured that the OC will make every endeavour possible to ensure that the Nationals take place, subject of course to Govt regulations. The OC is already discussing various options to accommodate the event and will be meeting consistently over the forthcoming weeks to put plans in place to ensure we can act as soon as legally possible.

VIRTUAL SHOW

For fun during this lockdown time, we have instigated a VIRTUAL SHOW. This has created good interest although with modest entries at this time . If you see merit in being involved, please do so by Wednesday 15 April.

I welcome any constructive input from members which may assist fellow competitors during these trying times.

Your committee will keep you updated when we have any further progress.

In the meantime, stay safe, isolate and remember how lucky we are to have horses to keep our minds sane during this catastrophe.

Kind regards

Peter Heagney
Chairman - Show Horse
