Victorian Dressage Championships Wrap-up

So that is it for another 12 months!

With a renewed sense of significance and a dedicated team of people determined to see this event take full flight, The Victorian Dressage Championships has awarded its Titles for 2018.

There were many challenges facing our beloved event as typified by the scorching conditions that greeted us all on Friday. So as we bring a very successful 2018 Championships to a close, there are many people to thank:

Sue Leslie for her role as Stable Manager Extraordinaire...amazing how many duties that covers!

In the Event office, Lyn Roycroft, Madison Layfield and Veronica Steward stepped in to keep everything running smoothly.

Equestrian Victoria's "new" Dressage Co-ordinator Sue Taylor was decorated with the role of Event Secretary and thus had her first exposure to Victorian Dressage en mass!

Jane Ventura who, under difficult circumstances, co-ordinated the judges for the event.

Our judges and stewards for their expertise and professionalism in sometimes trying conditions.

Brian Cheffers for his dulcet tones in the outdoor commentary box.

Our wonderful team of volunteer sheet collectors, pencillors and gear checkers for their dedication to their roles irrespective of weather conditions. Service with a Smile!

Pam Nissner for assisting with presentations and being a great gopher!

Libby Farries who co-ordinated the catering for the event including the wonderful spit roast on Saturday night.

Our social media team for keeping everyone informed and involved and for promoting our sponsors.

Our hard working committee for delivering a successful Championships.

To the myriad of others who jumped in as situations arose and generously donated their time to help the event run smoothly. The unsung heroes!

To Equestrian Victoria, Coral Byrne from Pony Club Victoria and The Keysborough Equestrian Club (who hosted the HRCAV Rings), thank you for helping us to showcase the breadth of the wonderful sport that is Dressage in Victoria.

Last but not least, we want to express our appreciation to the beautiful horses, their owners and the competitors. Without you there is no competition and there is no show! So thank you for getting behind this event and making it such a memorable experience for all.

To have reached this point brings a great sense of satisfaction. There were so many people entrusted with delivering this event and collectively they have produced a State Dressage Championships Victorians can be proud of!
There are exciting plans afoot. We look forward to seeing you all again next year for a bigger and better Victorian Dressage Championships in 2019.
